ITINERARY
Day
1 - Reykjavik, Iceland
Welcome
to Reykjavik – the world’s northernmost capital
city – where a world of wonder awaits as you step on board
and raise your glass to toast the start of your luxurious cruise.

2 - East Coast Greenland
As
you make your way towards Greenland you’ll become among a
privileged few to visit the world’s largest island.
Greenland’s wilderness offers some of the most spectacular
and unspoilt scenery on Earth.

4 - At Sea
Sail
through the Arctic waters of Greenland’s coastline
discovering the natural wonders that unfold before you.

5 - East Coast Fjords of Greenland
Spend
two days cruising and exploring Greenland’s magnificent East
Coast Fjords, the world’s largest fjord system. Cruise among
glorious icebergs and active volcanoes and feel the spray of thundering
waterfalls. Enter Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord, a remote and rarely visited
fjord system that lies within the North East Greenland National Park
with countless opportunities for exploration. Cruising through Kong
Oskar Fjord you will marvel at the geological beauty of the mountains.
Head south along the coast of Liverpool Land, on a passage that is
dependent on ice conditions, to reach Scoresby Sund, the
world’s biggest fjord. Massive glaciers dump into this fjord,
the birthplace of the famous big Greenland icebergs. Visit the Inuit
community of Ittoqqortoormiit (Scoresby Town) – one of the
remotest settlements on Earth – to learn about their
lifestyle in this secluded and harsh environment.

6 & 7 - East Coast Fjords of Greenland
Cruise
and explore Greenland’s magnificent East Coast Fjords.
Day
8 - North East Greenland
Approaching
North East Greenland you may encounter a variety of seabirds such as
northern Fulmar and migratory Brunnichs guillemots. This stretch of
coastline is ripe for exploration, with its many secrets locked in
place by drift ice for up to eight months each year. Home to polar
bear, snowy owl and musk ox, it’s the world’s
largest national park, covering 972,000km2, most of which is inland
ice, and the rest a fjord landscape.
You’ll
enjoy Scenic Discovery excursions exploring by Zodiac, looking for musk
ox, Arctic hare and eider ducks, or discover old trappers huts on hikes
across the tundra. Conditions permitting, there will be a good chance
for kayakers to paddle the waterways.
Day
9 - North East Greenland
Continue
to cruise North East Greenland. This stretch of coastline is ripe for
exploration, with its many secrets locked in place by drift ice for up
to eight months each year.

10 - At Sea
Relax
on board as you make your way to one of the world’s
northernmost inhabited areas.
Day
11 - Svalbard Archipelago, Norway
The
Svalbard Archipelago’s rugged glaciers and frozen tundras are
a fragile and remote area of vast environmental significance, while
Spitsbergen is the largest island. Due to the extraordinary nature of
the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your
experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to
design this section of your voyage from day to day. Making the most of
the long hours of daylight, weather and ice conditions to give you the
best experience possible in this extraordinary part of the world.
You
will enjoy daily Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac, kayak and on
nature walks to get right up close to the majestic Arctic scenery,
tundra landscapes, and wildlife and marine life that surrounds you.
Your
Scenic Eclipse voyage is in a prime time for wildlife spotting, and
there will be opportunities to be on the lookout for the dominant
predators of the region including the Polar bear.
Marine
species include the carefully protected walrus with its characteristic
tusks and several species of whales. Once hunted almost out of
existence in a region now transformed into a dedicated conservation
area, your encounters with these giants of the sea will be a memory to
treasure.
There
will be the chance to cruise the secluded bays, stunning fjords and
sparkling glaciers of this unique and special destination.
Days
12 & 13 - Svalbard Archipelago, Norway
Cruise
Svalbard Archipelago. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region,
the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your experienced
Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to design this
section of your voyage from day to day.
Day
14 - Longyearbyen > Oslo, Norway
Your
cruise ends this morning as you say farewell to the crew, disembark and
fly to Oslo.
