Sail from Yokohama and enjoy a relaxing day at sea before exploring northern Japan in Tokachi and Esashi. Continue to the cultural port of Akita and Toyama Shinko, then cross the sea to scenic Sokcho. Unwind with peaceful days at sea before returning to Yokohama, completing a voyage through Japan’s northern coast and Korea.

Itinerary

day 1 | Yokohama

Yokohama, Japan's second-largest city, seamlessly blends historical charm with modern innovation. Once a modest fishing village, it has transformed into a vibrant cosmopolitan hub, offering visitors a rich tapestry of cultural experiences, waterfront attractions, and culinary delights.

day 2 | At sea

day 3 | Tokachi

Tokachi is a vast, picturesque region located in the southeastern part of Hokkaido, Japan, centered around its largest hub, Obihiro City. Spanning an area roughly the size of Gifu Prefecture, Tokachi is famous worldwide as Japan's "Food Base" or breadbasket, operating at an astonishing 1,100% food self-sufficiency rate. The region is defined by its flat, sprawling plains, dramatic volcanic backdrops, high-quality dairy and agriculture, and unique frontier history.

day 4 | Esashi

Esashi is a historic port town located on the southwestern coast of Hokkaido, Japan. Known as the birthplace of Hokkaido culture, it became immensely wealthy between the Edo and Meiji periods through a booming herring fishing industry and trade via the Kitamaebune shipping route. The town's historical significance is preserved so well that its story was designated as Hokkaido's very first official Japan Heritage site.

day 5 | Akita

Akita is a vast, scenic prefecture located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in northern Honshu's Tohoku region. Renowned for its heavy winter snowfalls, deep-rooted samurai history, restorative hot springs, and its status as the birthplace of the loyal Akita Inu dog breed, it is an ideal destination for travelers seeking a serene, authentic glimpse into rural Japan.

day 6 | Toyama Shinko

Toyama Shinko (富山新港), which translates directly to "Toyama New Port," is a prominent industrial seaport and waterfront area located in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. Situated on the coast of the Sea of Japan, it forms a critical portion of the larger international Port of Fushiki-Toyama.

day 7 | At sea

day 8 | Sokcho

Sokcho is a coastal city located in northeastern South Korea. It sits along the East Sea (also known as the Sea of Japan) and is a famous destination known primarily as the major gateway to Seoraksan National Park.

day 9-10 | At sea

day 11 | Yokohama

It’s time to bid farewell to your newly formed friends, both passengers and staff. While some will prepare for their journey home, others will continue, extending their trip, preparing to have more memorable experiences.
