Lisbon has inspired explorers for centuries with its stunning setting at the Tagus River’s mouth. Its labyrinthine streets carry echoes of 16th-century navigators who sailed on the winds of the Age of Discovery. The city prospered greatly from its trade. And today’s streets are lined with the legacies of wealthy builders, including the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower, stunning works that introduced Manueline architecture. Savoring local cuisine and port wine are favorite pastimes here. On any evening, the strains of fadospill from clubs in the historic Alfama District.

So whether that is going to the gym, visiting the spa, whale-watching, catching up on your reading, or simply topping up your tan, these blue sea days are the perfect balance to busy days spent exploring shoreside.
Offering solace on the long journey across the Atlantic, Ponta Delgada is the Azores Islands' largest city, and a welcome relief for any weary sailor. Located on an archipelago of Portuguese islands, some 1,100 miles from the mainland, you can explore humbling volcanic scenery, as well as Sao Miguel's verdant landscape - which glows with colour when the hydrangeas that the Azores are known for bloom into life during the summer months. The striking black and white facade of the Church of Sao Jose welcomes you to the city itself, while you can head to the markets to pick up the pineapples, tea leaves and coffee beans that add a little flavour to the island. As the largest city of the Azores, Ponta Delgada is well stocked with places to eat delicious local seafood, or pick up a little shopping, as you enjoy setting your feet on dry land, following a long journey at sea. Volcanic firepower has carved these stunning islands, and a journey up to Caldeira das Sete Cidades is a must do, where you can hike beside the water-filled crater, and admire views of steep green walls, and the uninterrupted Atlantic Ocean stretching beyond them. Lagoa de Fogo offers yet more humbling views, with the crater lake dropping off sharply to rippled ocean far below.

The town features a long stretch of sandy beach—one of the rare sandy shores in the Azores—making it ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and seaside walks. Its name, meaning “Beach of Victory,” reflects its historical importance, particularly during the Portuguese Liberal Wars.

Bayonne serves as a gentle introduction to one of the most action-packed, adrenaline-inducing, and culturally significant areas in the world. Bayonne gives access to New Jersey while also being just minutes away from the heady buzz of New York City. From its coastline, you can take in iconic views of the Statue of Liberty, with the famous Manhattan skyline rising behind her lofted flame. Most who arrive at the cruise terminal will soon be delving into the celebrated and cinematic jungle of New York City to take a big bite out of the Big Apple. The city that never sleeps is within touching distance, welcoming you to a global hub of fine dining, celebrated museums and galleries, and soaring skyscrapers. That’s not to say that Bayonne doesn’t have a little star quality of its own, however. The long arch of the Bayonne Bridge links up with New York City’s Staten Island, and you might recognize its steely span from cinematic cameos in "A Beautiful Mind" and "War of the Worlds" movies. One of Bayonne’s most poignant landmarks is its waterfront 9/11 memorial. This 100-foot-tall monument, with a metallic tear suspended between steel slabs, was donated by Russia. The moving tribute honors those lost in the September 11th attacks and offers a peaceful, reflective space, with views of the One World Trade Center standing tall on the Manhattan skyline.
